The Kontiki was a raft built by Thor Heyerdahl for a scientific voyage between Peru and Polynesia. All crew members wore Eterna Matic watches (Matic being Eterna's term for automatic). To celebrate the success of the voyage, the Kontiki watch was launched..

This model is one of the original models of the KonTiki and dates from the early 1960s. It is the large size version, the most sought after. .

Maintenance: Serviced in our workshops in August 2025, works perfectly 
Feature: Original "Gay Frères" steel bracelet, extremely rare and sought after for its comfort and robustness, which adds significant value to the watch. With its KonTiki deployant clasp. The bracelet is wide, allowing it to be perfectly adjusted to any wrist. 
Case: full steel and magnificent, never polished. It features on its back a gold medallion with the expedition logo. It shows some scratches and dents, witnesses of its history, clearly visible in the photos. . 
Dial and hands: in perfect condition. 
Crown: signed Eterna
