Superb and rare watch from the famous brand Vulcain (a brand worn by many American presidents), model Efemerid, dating from 1960.

It is historically very interesting because it was given to an important collaborator of Bois du Cazier in 1960, four years after the world-renowned disaster that occurred in this mine, and one year before its first closure and the liquidation of the company (see the engraving on the back).!
This watch is referred to as a triple date, meaning it independently displays the day of the month via an additional hand, the day of the week, as well as the month of the year in two separate windows, which are shown in French. All three are quickly and independently adjustable thanks to three small pushers located on the sides of the watch.
The movement that powers it, the rare Vulcain 659, was serviced in November 2025 by ilétaitunemontre and is functioning perfectly, including its quick adjustments.
The case is gold-plated.
The watch is delivered on a new soft brown leather strap .
