François Borgel two-tone case in steel & solid rose gold · Manufacture calibre 105 · 24 mm · with its original box
Rare Movado Sport for ladies in a case signed by François Borgel, made of stainless steel and solid rose gold (top of the lugs, bezel and crown). No plating here: the faceted angular lugs and the fluted crown are made of 18-carat rose gold, offering a refined contrast with the case and the stainless steel back.
Original champagne/gold dial signed MOVADO SPORT, in very good condition. Applied Arabic numerals in the typical Art Deco style of the late 1940s, leaf hands, small seconds at 6 o'clock with graduation. The outer railway track is perfectly legible.
Movado manufacture calibre 105, manual winding, fully serviced in our workshops in February 2026. The watch works perfectly and keeps time accurately.
The FB PATENT hallmark on the back attests to the manufacture by the house of "François Borgel", a Geneva specialist in waterproof cases with screw-down backs. Borgel is best known as the manufacturer of cases for some of the most iconic Patek Philippe references (Calatrava ref. 565, Chronograph ref. 1463).
Delivered in its magnificent period Movado blue box, perfectly fitting.
Vintage Movado watches from this era are true Swiss manufactures, with movements developed and produced in-house in La Chaux-de-Fonds. The combination of a manufacture calibre, a Borgel case in solid rose gold, and a well-preserved Art Deco dial makes this little Sport a rare and endearing piece — far from the anonymous ladies' watches typically encountered.
