In 1982, Omega commissioned legendary designer Gérald Genta to create a new model within the Seamaster line. Thus was born the Polaris—a watch like no other, breaking away from the classic codes of sports watchmaking with its organic silhouette, integrated bracelet, and bold combination of gold with steel or titanium.

This example is a reference 396.1022 from 1991, in brushed steel and 18-karat yellow gold. The two-tone bezel—featuring geometric gold inlays set into steel—stands as the most iconic visual signature of Genta's design for Omega. A truly unique manufacturing process!

John McEnroe, tennis legend, served as its ambassador: a choice that perfectly embodied the nonconformist spirit of this watch.
