Richard chronograph - Valjoux 23 - 1950s


Swiss chronograph signed Richard (Richard SA, Morges), a brand founded in 1942 and acquired by Longines in 1978.

Valjoux 23 manual winding calibre, column wheel, 21 jewels. Movement produced in the Vallée de Joux between 1916 and 1974, one of the most respected chronograph calibres in Swiss watchmaking. Two counters: continuous small seconds at 9 o'clock, 30-minute counter at 3 o'clock.

Stainless steel case, screw-down back with inner dust cover/Faraday cage anti-magnetic. 36 mm excluding crown, 39.5 mm including crown, 43 mm from lug to lug. Back engraved with the Richard heraldic crest with mentions Swiss, Nivaflex, Incabloc, Anti-magnetic. Original round steel pushers, signed crown.
Beautiful silvered dial with cream patina and slight variations, true to its age. Double functional scale: tachymeter in blue, telemeter in red. Applied and faceted indices, original hands. 'Swiss Made' mention at 6 o'clock.

Movement fully serviced in March 2026 in our workshops. Chronograph with impeccable operation: clear start, stop, and reset.
Delivered on a new, thick, handmade leather strap.
