A diver's watch with a double crown and internal rotating bezel from the late sixties, in the famous Super-Compressor Epsa case that defined a whole genre.
Delac was not a manufacturer, but a Brussels jeweller (Belgium), who had its name placed on Swiss watches, here on an authentic Super Compressor case by Ervin Piquerez (EPSA) in Bassecourt.
Steel Super Compressor EPSA case, reference 6364-1, screw-down case back stamped with the diver's helmet, patents 317537 and 337462 and dated 1-68 inside, that is January 1968.
Black internal rotating bezel, graduated for 60 minutes, with numbers 15, 30 and 45, operated by the crown at 2 o'clock.
Silvered dial, patinated in a warm gradient downwards, marked Ra SWISS MADE Ra at the edge of the minute track.
Square luminescent indices at the quarters, paired with the numbers 12, 9 and 6 in reserve, luminescent triangles at the other hours, Delac logo and mention of Divers Automatic.
Original hands, wide arrow for the hours, lance for the minutes, central second hand with luminescent diamond.
Two original EPSA crowns, grooved on the side and knurled on the top, the one at 4 o'clock for winding and setting the time.
Domed acrylic glass.
Date window framed at 3 o'clock, white disc and black numbers.
Condition: the case is in excellent condition, and has retained its shape and the design of its faceted lugs, with fine usage scratches on the back, nothing deep. The dial is splendid, without stains or chips. The marking at the bottom of the dial indicates Radium, and the check done in the workshop confirms it: it is indeed original on the indices as well as on the hands, never touched up, which explains the perfect match of cream tones between the two. The internal bezel is intact and turns freely. The glass is clean and in very good condition.
Dimensions: 36.5 mm excluding crowns, 40.5 mm including crowns, 42.5 mm from lug to lug, between lugs 18 mm.
Automatic calibre A. Schild 1903, 25 jewels, 21,600 beats per hour, approximately 44 hours of power reserve. The date changes by moving the hands between 8 PM and midnight, without a quick-set.
Serviced in August 2026, complete disassembly and cleaning, detailed lubrication, regulation. The watch works perfectly.
The Super Compressor mechanism is complete and functional, the back screws down as it should. That said, the water resistance of a case from 1968 relies on seals that are as old as the watch, and is not guaranteed. It is worn dry, like all dive watches of this generation.
